Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s resurgence continues with Jaylen Hoard leading the charge. Facing Bayern Munich, the Israeli club relied on the French forward’s dominant performance, as he delivered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in a spectacular overtime victory (111-106). This marks the third straight win for the Club Nation, who now trail the 10th place play-in position by just two victories.
Return to dominant form in the paint
After recording four double-doubles early in the season, Jaylen Hoard hadn’t reached this statistical milestone since mid-November against Baskonia. Against Bayern Munich, he rediscovered his paint dominance, combining rebounding impact with efficiency near the rim.
In an offensive and closely contested match, the Le Havre native provided stability for his club, particularly during crucial moments in overtime. His activity on both ends of the court confirms his growing importance in the rotation.
Consistent EuroLeague production
Throughout this EuroLeague season, the former Portland Trail Blazers player is posting numbers similar to last year’s campaign. He currently averages 12 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 28 minutes per game.
Last season, he compiled 14.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 30 minutes. While showing a slight decrease in scoring, his increased rebounding presence demonstrates his continued central role in Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s system.
Jaylen Hoard has been called up to the French national team for February’s international window. Like Élie Okobo, he will join the squad on February 28th, five days after the other selected players. Despite the delayed arrival, he represents a valuable reinforcement for Les Bleus, given his strong form in recent EuroLeague weeks.
