A decisive Benitez in crunch time
Manresa secured their fourth Lliga Catalana, but they had to hold off Joventut’s attacks until the very end. Led by a solid collective effort, Diego Ocampo’s men took the lead from the first quarter (26-19), maintaining a slight advantage at halftime (40-35).
Coming back from the locker room, Badalone tied the score twice, but a 14-3 run by the Catalans gave Manresa breathing room (65-56, 30th minute). Despite a final push by Kyle Hunt and Ricky Rubio’s teammates in the final two minutes, the home team held on, with Dani Pérez sealing the victory from the free-throw line.

Hugo Benitez named MVP
Facing his childhood idol Ricky Rubio, Hugo Benitez confirmed his leadership role. The French point guard posted 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for an efficiency rating of 22. His complete performance earned him the final’s MVP award.
With this preseason trophy, Manresa is off to an ideal start to their 2025-2026 season, and Benitez confirms his rise to prominence, already glimpsed throughout the preparation period.
