Zaccharie Risacher (6’9″, 20 years old) confirmed his rising form with the French team during the Blues’ victory against Slovenia (103-95) at EuroBasket 2025. Very accurate from behind the arc, the 19-year-old forward showed his full potential again, despite limited playing time due to fouls.

Risacher, valuable off the bench

In a game marked by Sylvain Francisco’s huge performance, Zaccharie Risacher stood out with his offensive efficiency. Entering the game with confidence, he scored 12 points in just 11 minutes 52 seconds, shooting 4/7 from three-point range, making his first four attempts. His teammates looked for him often in shooting positions, and he delivered.

« We played very well as a team. I feel good within this team too. They know I can make big shots. Today, I had a pretty solid game with three-point shooting, so that’s positive, » he stated after the game.

Fauthoux impressed, Sarr complicit

His head coach Frédéric Fauthoux appreciated this new contribution: « He did what Zaccharie does, performing well from long range, continues to take open shots. Some didn’t play much. But everyone contributed and that’s what’s interesting. »

Alexandre Sarr, close to him on and off the court, was pleased with their chemistry: « We find each other well. It’s true that we’ve had a relationship for many years, it’s helpful. »

A first matchup against Doncic

Risacher also had the opportunity to face Luka Doncic for the first time in his career. While acknowledging the Slovenian’s immense talent, he didn’t shy away from the challenge: « Although he’s one of the best players in the world, you can’t overthink it. Play physical, use my wingspan. I really feel I learned a lot defending against him. »

Already focused on Israel

Aware of the importance of each game, the young forward doesn’t want to stop there. This Sunday, the French team faces Israel and Deni Avdija, another high-level small forward. « No time to savor it. We move straight to the next one. It’s a new challenge and it’s cool to keep going, » he concluded, already focused on the next step with a matchup against another strong NBA player, Deni Avdija. « He’s a very good player with great physical qualities too. I’m very happy to take on another challenge tomorrow as a player. We really enjoy being able to play every day. It’s pure joy. » An enthusiasm that’s far from negligible in explaining his current level of performance.
