In addition to Team France, who qualified after their victory against Greece (92-56), several other teams have secured their place in the quarter-finals of Women’s EuroBasket 2025. This Thursday, Italy and Lithuania joined Les Bleues, while several nations, like Switzerland and Serbia, are already eliminated.
Solid against Greece, France was very convincing in front of 8,860 spectators, setting an attendance record for EuroBasket in the 21st century. Janelle Salaün (17 points), Iliana Rupert (15 points on 6/7 shooting) and Migna Touré (15 points) helped Les Bleues build a lead late in the first half to win 92-56. The quarter-final qualification is secured.
In the other group match, Turkey bounced back after their narrow loss to France. Thanks to a strong team effort and another double-double from Teaira McCowan (19 points, 12 rebounds), the Turks dominated François Gomez’s Switzerland (91-67). Already eliminated, the Swiss will try to perform well against France this Saturday.
In their Bologna arena, the Italians nearly threw it all away. After leading by up to 24 points, they saw Slovenia come back and take the lead early in the fourth quarter. But led by Francesca Pasa (15 points) and Jasmine Keys (15 points as well), Italy regrouped to win 77-66. Result: qualification for the quarters, along with Lithuania, who had beaten Serbia earlier (74-63). Laura Juskaite (24 points, 9 rebounds) and Juste Jocyte (15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists) shined.

Slovenia, losing twice, and Serbia are therefore eliminated.
Defending champions Belgium started strong against Portugal (81-52). Emma Meesseman showed her class with royal stats (19 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists), well supported by Julie Vanloo (13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists).

In the other match, the Czech Republic, hosting the group, delighted the Brno crowd by crushing Montenegro (89-44). Julia Reisingerova (14 points) and Emma Cechova (11 points, 8 rebounds) were valuable.
Portugal and Montenegro no longer have hope of qualifying.
In a tight battle, Germany resisted Sweden’s comeback to win 89-76 in front of Dirk Nowitzki and a packed arena. Luisa Geiselsöder (20 points) and Frieda Bühner (18 points, 10 rebounds) led the hosts to an important first victory.
But it was Spain that made the biggest impression. Led by their golden youth, La Roja crushed Great Britain (85-70) with an exceptional second quarter (30-12). Iyana Martin (14 points), Helena Pueyo (9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals) and Mariona Ortiz (8 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) shined.
