France’s women’s 3×3 team completely renewed for the first Champions Cup

C’Chartres Metropole Women’s Basketball continues to strengthen for next season with the arrival of Elena Zemoura (1.84 m, 21 years old), reports L’Écho Républicain. The French wing becomes the club’s fifth official recruit, after Kekelly Elenga, Yvanna Enjolvy, Assitan Koné and Jessica Mavambou.
Having trained at Lattes-Montpellier’s youth academy, Elena Zemoura already has solid experience despite her young age. Between 2021 and 2024, she played in LF2 with the Herault club, averaging 1 point and 0.5 rebounds over three seasons. She participated in European competitions with 12 EuroLeague and 16 EuroCup games under her belt.
However, her journey was marked by a serious injury in November 2022. An ACL tear accompanied by a meniscus tear forced her to stay away from the courts for nearly ten months. This ordeal led her to choose to move down to LF2 with Aulnoye last season to regain playing time and confidence.
At the international level, Elena Zemoura has distinguished herself in French youth teams. Captain of the U18 selection, she also won the U20 European Championship title in 2024. Her experience even extends to 3×3, a discipline in which she represented France’s U21 team and then the senior national team.
At Chartres, the wing will have to fight for playing time, particularly against Clarisse Legrand, who was recently extended in the same position. Her versatility is nevertheless an asset, as she can also play at position 4, a role she mainly held at Aulnoye.
C’Chartres MBF’s recruitment is taking place in a particular context, as the club is still waiting for a possible promotion to Wonderligue following Tarbes’ confirmed relegation by the FFBB. While this uncertainty complicates planning, it doesn’t prevent Chartres’ management from continuing to build their roster around a promising core.
