Lakers unveil their new jersey with LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers chose the perfect moment to unveil their new jersey design for the 2025-2026 NBA season. The franchise shared its new Statement Edition creation, featuring a purple color with white lettering and gold accents.

A return to roots with modern innovations
This new uniform marks a return to the iconic purple look from the 2022-2023 season, but with significant differences from the previous uniform that also used a purple base. Unlike the previous version that used gold font for the team name and a dark color for the numbers, the fonts for both numbers and « Lakers » are now bright white, complemented by a gold border.

One of the most significant additions to the uniform involves the side panels, which have abandoned the previous black accents. They are replaced by a purple, gold, and white side panel with « Los Angeles Lakers » engraved in a brilliant radiance. The collar also features a border with purple and white stripes.
Details that honor the Lakers’ legacy
« Leave a Legacy » is printed above the uniform tag with the number 17 on the back of the collar to honor the franchise’s 17 NBA championships. For the first time on a primary uniform, the Lakers will include the team’s iconic « LA » logo on both sides of the shorts to add a « balanced finishing touch. »
According to Los Angeles’ press release, the Statement Edition jersey will be complemented by a range of jerseys including its gold Icon Edition, white Association Edition jerseys, and its annual City Edition uniform. The fact that LeBron James’ number 23 jersey was placed at the center of the presentation is likely no coincidence, highlighting the superstar’s continued importance in the California franchise’s plans.
