The Orlando Magic extended their winning streak to five games by defeating Cleveland Cavaliers 128-122 Wednesday night at Kia Center. Desmond Bane was the architect of this success with an exceptional 35-point performance, capped by a clutch 3-pointer in the final seconds.

The game tilted in the final moments when Bane hit an acrobatic 3-pointer while falling out of bounds with 17.4 seconds remaining on the clock. The guard then sealed the victory by converting two free throws with eight seconds to play, after Cleveland cut the lead to two points thanks to a series of four consecutive 3-pointers.

Paolo Banchero and Orlando’s offense dominate the paint

Paolo Banchero provided a solid contribution with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Tristan da Silva added 23 points with nine crucial points in the fourth quarter. Orlando particularly shined in the paint, converting 21 of their 25 attempts near the basket (84%), taking advantage of Jarrett Allen’s absence on Cleveland’s side.

The Cavaliers still put up strong offensive resistance led by JJames Harden and his 30 points on 11/16 shooting, accompanied by eight assists. Donovan Mitchell added 25 points despite struggles in crunch time (2/8 shooting in the fourth quarter), while Evan Mobley compiled 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Cleveland’s spectacular comeback in the final minutes was orchestrated by Keon Ellis, who scored 20 points including 12 in the fourth quarter thanks to a 3-point festival (5/8). His three consecutive 3-pointers allowed the Cavaliers to get back in the game after trailing by 13 points.

This fifth consecutive victory represents the longest streak of the season for Orlando Magic, which continues its climb in the standings. The Cavaliers suffer their fifth loss in nine games after a seven-game winning streak. Cleveland’s next game will be Friday night at Dallas, while Orlando will host Washington on Thursday.
