Anthony Edwards once again demonstrated why he is considered one of the NBA’s biggest stars. The Minnesota Timberwolves guard scored 31 points in his team’s 94-88 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in Inglewood. Edwards, returning to the All-Star Game site where he was named MVP, shot 12/24 and sealed the victory with a step-back 3-pointer over two defenders to give them a 92-88 lead with 42.9 seconds remaining.

An effective collective offense for Minnesota

The Timberwolves relied on a strong collective effort around their leader. Donte DiVincenzo added 18 valuable points, while Jaden McDaniels and Ayo Dosunmu each contributed 12 points. Rudy Gobert dominated the boards with 13 rebounds, helping Minnesota improve their record to 5 wins and 1 loss since February 9 and 3-1 since the All-Star Break.

This collective performance allowed the Minnesota Timberwolves to take control of the game in the fourth quarter. After trailing 68-63 entering the final period, they reversed the situation thanks to a drive followed by a reverse layup from Edwards that gave them the lead for good at 76-74 with 7:40 remaining.

The Clippers struggled offensively without their star Kawhi Leonard, sidelined due to an ankle injury. The Los Angeles team scored only 38 points in the first half, their lowest total of the season in a half. Derrick Jones Jr led the Clippers’ offense with 18 points, supported by Bennedict Mathurin (14 points) and Kris Dunn (11 points), but it wasn’t enough against a confident Timberwolves team.

This loss marks the third consecutive defeat for the Clippers, their first losing streak of this magnitude since December. Minnesota continues their upward momentum and improves their record to 2-0 on this three-game road trip, confirming their status as a team to watch in the Western Conference.
