The NBA has unveiled the first fan voting results for the 2026 All-Star Game, and early trends are clearly emerging. Luka Doncic establishes himself as the undisputed leader with 1,249,518 votes, taking pole position in the overall rankings.
In the West, the Dallas Mavericks guard leads Nikola Jokic (1,128,962 votes) and Stephen Curry (1,031,455 votes). On the French side, Victor Wembanyama already manages to slip into the Western Conference Top 5, confirming his growing popularity among fans.
In the Eastern Conference, Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the way with 1,192,296 votes. The battle is fierce among guards, with Tyrese Maxey (1,072,449 votes) and Jalen Brunson (1,040,601 votes) occupying places of honor in the Top 5.
This year, the starter selection process is evolving. Fan voting represents 50% of the final decision, while NBA players (25%) and a media panel (25%) complete the equation to designate the five starters per conference.
Another notable change: selection is now made without position distinctions, abandoning the old « 2 guards / 3 frontcourt » system. For reserves, coaches will have the final say.
The calendar is tight with « 3-for-1 Day » scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, where each vote will count triple. The next voting update will take place on Tuesday, January 6, before final voting closes on January 15 at 05:59 (French time).
LeBron James, usually unavoidable, surprises with his 9th position in the West with 536,555 votes, placing him 15th in the overall rankings across all conferences. Nevertheless, this first checkpoint reflects only an initial trend, and an All-Star Game without the King seems unlikely given his current performances.
