The New York Knicks returned to winning ways Wednesday night in Memphis, defeating the Grizzlies 130-119 thanks to exceptional performances from OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns. This victory ends a three-game losing streak for the New York franchise.

Anunoby and Towns shine in Knicks victory

OG Anunoby led the Knicks’ offense with 25 points and 13 rebounds, once again demonstrating his versatility on both ends of the floor. Karl-Anthony Towns recorded his fourth triple-double of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, perfectly orchestrating the New York offense.

Mikal Bridges also contributed with 24 points, allowing the Knicks to dominate an injury-depleted Grizzlies team. New York took control of the game from the first quarter, missing only two of their first 15 shot attempts.

The Knicks’ offensive efficiency was remarkable in the first half, with 71% shooting from the field and 7 makes on 10 three-point attempts. This efficiency allowed them to take a comfortable 79-62 lead at halftime, setting a season high for a first half.

Memphis dominated on the boards despite late rally

The Knicks’ dominance was particularly evident on the glass, where they crushed Memphis 49-20. The 20 rebounds captured by the Grizzlies represents the lowest total in franchise history, reflecting the difficulties faced by Memphis.

For Memphis, GG Jackson led scorers with 20 points, supported by Olivier-Maxence Prosper (17 points), Cedric Coward (15 points) and Adama Bal (11 points). The Grizzlies attempted a comeback in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 90-87, but the Knicks responded to lead 99-90 entering the final quarter.

This victory allows the Knicks to consolidate their third place in the East, with a one-and-a-half game lead over the Cavaliers. Both teams play Friday: New York will host Chicago while Memphis welcomes Toronto.
