A Symbolic Record Set Against Cleveland
At 41 years and three months, LeBron James is still out here rewriting the league’s history books.
“The King” just added another line to a résumé that somehow keeps growing, becoming the all-time leader in wins across regular season and playoffs combined — a record that speaks less to peaks and more to sustained dominance over two decades.
The milestone came in a 125–108 win by the Los Angeles Lakers over the Cleveland Cavaliers, his 1,229th career victory — pushing him past Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It’s the kind of number that only really makes sense when you zoom out: longevity, durability, relevance… all stacked year after year.
And yeah, there’s a little symmetry to it. The record comes against Cleveland — the place where it all started, and where he came back to deliver that 2016 title that still echoes through the league. This time, no need for a signature takeover: 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 4-of-8 shooting. Just another night at the office — except the office keeps making history.

23 Seasons of Excellence and Consistency
This new record perfectly reflects what has characterized the King’s career: longevity, durability and success. Since arriving in the NBA in October 2003, James has accumulated 1,045 regular season wins over 23 seasons and 184 playoff wins over 18 playoff campaigns, including 10 NBA Finals.
From Cleveland to Los Angeles via Miami, the player has maintained a 64.4% career winning percentage, testament to his constant obsession with success despite the passage of time. He has notably recorded at least 50 wins on 10 occasions and 60 wins on 3 occasions in the regular season.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar still holds the record for most regular season wins with 1,074 victories, compared to 1,045 for LeBron James. To claim this final record, the King would need to sign on for a 24th season, which would make this new feat practically unreachable for future generations.
