Three brothers on the same NBA team: Bucks make history!

History is being made with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks have officially signed Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way contract, according to Alex Saratsis, CEO of Octagon, who spoke to Shams Charania of ESPN. The youngest of the Antetokounmpo brothers, aged 24, joins his older brothers Giannis and Thanasis in Wisconsin.
This signing marks a historic moment for the NBA, as it’s the first time three brothers are under active contracts with the same team. This family reunion isn’t entirely new for Alex, who is already familiar with the Bucks organization.

A familiar return after mixed European experiences
Alex Antetokounmpo is no stranger to the Wisconsin organization. Between 2022 and 2024, he already played for the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G-League affiliate. Professional since 2020 and undrafted in 2021, he also played with the Raptors 905 in G-League during the 2021-2022 season.
After several unsuccessful experiences in Europe in 2024, including stints in Lithuania with Mazeikiai, in Montenegro with Podgorica, then in Greece with PAOK and Aris, Alex now gets a real NBA opportunity. Last week, he was released by Aris Thessaloniki and was expected to return to the G-League.
To make room for Alex, the Bucks released Jamaree Bouyea from his two-way contract. This signing comes at a particular time, as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee seems more uncertain than ever. After extending Thanasis in August, the franchise sends a strong message by securing the services of the third brother.
This two-way contract will allow Alex to make his NBA debut and play primarily with the Wisconsin Herd, while having the opportunity to play up to 50 NBA games. A unique opportunity to potentially see three of the four Antetokounmpo brothers on the court at the same time during the 2025-2026 season.
