David Jones Garcia (1,98 m, 24 yo) has received a two-year, $3 million tax-free offer from Olympiacos, after leaving the San Antonio Spurs organization. The move could reunite him with compatriot Jean Montero in Greece.

David Jones Garcia is thinking of heading to Europe. The Dominican forward, who spent the 2024-2025 season in the San Antonio Spurs organization, has received a two-year contract offer with Olympiacos worth approximately $3 million. The deal is tax-free, making it a financially attractive move for the young player.

This signing can mark a significant step in Jones Garcia’s career. After going undrafted in 2024, he worked his way through the G League with stints at the Mexico City Capitanes and Salt Lake City Stars before landing with the Austin Spurs. He earned a two-way opportunity with San Antonio but saw limited NBA action, averaging 2.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 rebounds over 11 games during the 2025-2026 season.

A second attempt for Olympiacos

The EuroLeague champion had already set its sights on Jones Garcia last summer, offering him $2 million to join the club. He turned it down, choosing to bet on himself and pursue an NBA opportunity with the Spurs. Now, after a season split between the NBA and the G League, he can make the move — and Olympiacos came back with a stronger offer.

His G League numbers made a strong case for his potential. With the Austin Spurs, Jones Garcia averaged an impressive 26.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, showcasing the offensive versatility that drew Olympiacos’ interest in the first place.

A Dominican connection in Piraeus

One of the most compelling aspects of this possible signing is the reunion it creates. Jones Garcia could have the opportunity to join Jean Montero (1,88 m, 23 yo), his Dominican Republic national team teammate, who recently signed a three-year deal with Olympiacos after his time with Valencia Basket. The two have shared the court for their country, including at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup.
