The Charlotte Hornets continue their impressive climb up the standings. Wednesday in Memphis, the North Carolina team won 112-97 against the Grizzlies, securing their 20th victory of the season. A symbolic figure that already exceeds last campaign’s total, when Charlotte finished with a disappointing record of 19 wins and 62 losses.

Brandon Miller was the main architect of this victory with 26 points scored, once again demonstrating his offensive potential. The young forward particularly shined early in the game, dropping 14 points in the first quarter alone to help the Hornets take a 36-28 lead.
Most notably, Moussa Diabaté delivered a remarkable performance with a double-double of 18 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 33 minutes. The French center displayed remarkable efficiency by converting 8 of his 9 field goal attempts, including a 3-pointer (his second in the NBA), on the first night of a back-to-back. Miles Bridges (20 points) and LaMelo Ball (16 points) completed the Hornets’ offensive effort.
Charlotte took control of the game from the start, leading 29-13 with less than four minutes to play in the first quarter. This lead was maintained at halftime (62-55) before extending in the third quarter (89-75), definitively sealing the outcome of the game.
Unlike his compatriot, Tidjane Salaün (6’9″, 20 years old) did not contribute: the sophomore did not enter the game.
On the Grizzlies’ side, Jaren Jackson Jr. tried to keep his team afloat with 26 points, supported by Cedric Coward and his 17 units. But Memphis is on a fourth consecutive loss and now displays a record of 18 wins and 27 losses.
The prolonged absence of Ja Morant, sidelined for at least three weeks due to a left elbow injury, weighs heavily on the Grizzlies’ ambitions. This four-game winning streak propels Charlotte to 20-28, reflecting spectacular progress compared to last season.
