Phoenix Suns took control early and held it, beating the Dallas Mavericks 120–111 and handing Dallas its eighth straight loss. The skid matches the Dallas Mavericks’ longest winless stretch since 2016, a stark marker of how quickly this stretch has unraveled.
Dillon Brooks leads Suns offense
Dillon Brooks was Phoenix’s leading scorer with 23 points, well supported by Devin Booker who added 19 points to the cause. The Suns took command of the game from Booker’s first fadeaway basket, giving his team a 2-1 advantage.
Phoenix Suns never looked back, stretching the margin to as many as 31 points (61–30) and giving the night the feel of a rout. The Suns appeared to be coasting toward a comfortable finish before Dallas mounted a late push to make it respectable.

Dallas falls short on comeback despite Marshall and Flagg
On the Mavericks side, Naji Marshall was prolific with 31 points, while Cooper Flagg contributed 27 points. Both players led Dallas’s comeback attempt in the final minutes.
An offensive rebound basket by Flagg with 6:57 remaining cut the deficit to 108-96, rekindling hope for the Texans. Marshall then brought his team within six points (115-109) with a successful floater with 2:09 on the clock.
But Booker cooled Dallas’s momentum by hitting a mid-range shot with 1:50 remaining, then adding a free throw to extend the lead to nine points. After a driving basket by P.J. Washington, Booker definitively sealed the game’s outcome with a final pull-up basket, abruptly stopping the Mavericks’ comeback attempt.
The Mavericks haven’t tasted victory since their home win against Golden State on January 22. They will attempt to end this losing streak Thursday night on the Los Angeles Lakers’ court, while Phoenix will host Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
