Just out of the Betclic ELITE promotion playoffs after losing to Le Portel, Orleans Loiret Basket (OLB) is active in the transfer market trying to build a team that will allow them to return to the elite division. According to information from Alexandre Sanson, followed by France Bleu, OLB has its eye on Siriman Kanoute (1.78m, 23 years old). The Malian point guard should be the first recruit to arrive in Loiret in the coming days.

Negotiations already well advanced

Looking to strengthen, OLB will seek to modify its backcourt. Only Meredis Houmounou is under contract for 2025-2026 and departures are expected including that of Timothe Crusol. That’s why Orleans is looking for a young guard and Siriman Kanoute perfectly fits this profile. Previously approached by Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Rouen, the young point guard should finally settle in Loiret.

Gabriel Pantel-Jouve

The Malian international has climbed every step of French basketball one by one. First through Nancy’s youth academy, he then played two seasons in NM1 at Kaysersberg then at Besancon where he was voted best young player in the division. In summer 2023, he joined Aix-Maurienne where he developed before breaking through in Pro B. In 2024-2025, he averaged 9.7 points (41.9% shooting), 3.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.4 rebounds, all while playing just 18 minutes per game.
This is a great acquisition for Orleans who gets a constantly improving profile that can only develop further within a team looking to play leading roles. Aggressive both driving to the basket and on defense, he will bring punch to OLB’s future backcourt. His 19 points scored on Orleans’ court during the first playoff quarter-final game likely convinced coach Lamine Kebe.
