Poitiers signs experienced point guard to start the season

Poitiers Basket 86 has signed Bubu Palo (1.88m, 34) to start the 2025-2026 season. The former Evreux and Antibes point guard arrives to temporarily replace Marcus Hammond. The latter injured his ankle during practice, preventing him from participating in the French Cup game against Sables Vendée Basket. The former Rouen player will be out for at least four weeks.

A strong season in Evreux, less impact in Antibes
« Bubu is an experienced player who knows the league very well. He has a similar profile to Marcus, whom he will replace during his recovery period, » said his new coach Andy Thornton-Jones. This temporary position will be an opportunity for Bubu Palo to rebuild his reputation after a somewhat disappointing 2024-2025 season with Antibes (12.4 points at 43.5% shooting, 2.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25 minutes over 39 games played). Disappointing because at Evreux in 2022-2023, the American-Burkinabe point guard had shown a high level of play that earned him a two-year contract with Antibes.
Arriving from the Danish championship in summer 2022, the player who spent a long time with Sioux Falls in the G-League had averaged 12.9 points at 55.7% shooting (including 45% from 3-point range on 3.1 attempts per game), 2.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 28 minutes, over 19 games. PB 86 hopes to get this version of him.
