A rising player at the heart of Maccabi’s project
After joining Maccabi Tel Aviv in summer 2024 from Hapoel Tel Aviv, Jaylen Hoard (26) quickly found his place in Oded Kattash’s roster. In his first EuroLeague season, he averaged 14.7 points on 61.6% 2-point shooting, 5 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 30 minutes, with a 17.5 efficiency rating. In the Israeli league, he posted 12.6 points on 66.4% 2-point and 41.7% 3-point shooting, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals.
Sports Director Claudio Coldebella welcomed this extension: « This is an important step that shows the quality of the club’s work, as well as Jaylen’s desire to continue the adventure here. He is constantly improving and can become one of the best players in EuroLeague. »
Coach Oded Kattash also praised the news: « Jaylen Hoard has become a cornerstone of the team. He has demonstrated his qualities on both ends of the floor and has perfectly integrated into our system. His continuity is essential. »
Jaylen Hoard: « We still have work to accomplish »
Deeply invested in Maccabi’s project, Jaylen Hoard also expressed his satisfaction in continuing with the Tel Aviv club: « I’m very proud and grateful to continue this journey. We still have work to accomplish and our goal is clear: to keep progressing and achieve our objectives. »
This extension aligns with Maccabi’s desire to build a stable and ambitious roster for the coming seasons. With Jaylen Hoard as a leader, the club can nurture great ambitions, both in the domestic championship and EuroLeague.
Impact on court and in the locker room
Beyond his statistics, Jaylen Hoard has established himself as an excellent defender, an athletic player capable of shining in difficult moments, and a highly appreciated teammate. The French international, expected at EuroBasket 2025, contributed to Maccabi’s successful season, winning the Israeli Cup and Winner Cup, and qualifying for the championship final, which was ultimately cancelled.
