In what proved to be another challenging evening collectively for Brooklyn, Nolan Traoré (1.91m, 19 years old) once again stood out individually. Against the Magic, the French point guard matched his NBA records for both points and assists, confirming his upward trajectory despite unfavorable circumstances.
Nolan Traoré continues to impress at NBA level
Recording 21 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists, Nolan Traoré delivered a highly accomplished performance across 38 minutes, shooting 7/13 from the field, including 3/7 from 3-points, and adding 1 steal.
The Frenchman had previously scored 21 points against Boston on January 23rd, and had also distributed 7 assists against Chicago a week earlier. This represents encouraging consistency in his decision-making and offensive aggression.
Beyond the statistics, it was particularly his ball-handling accelerations that caught the eye, notably against Anthony Black, widely regarded as one of the league’s best perimeter defenders. A matchup the French rookie won on several occasions.

Brooklyn dominated collectively
Despite Traoré’s performance, the Brooklyn Nets suffered a heavy 118-98 defeat to the Orlando Magic. Orlando quickly seized control of the contest, building leads of up to 21 points in the first half and 26 in the third quarter.
For the Magic, Jalen Suggs recorded the first triple-double of his career with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while Desmond Bane (23 points) and Paolo Banchero (22 points) provided the scoring punch.
Penda Quiet, but Victorius in the end
Noah Penda (1.99 m, 21) logged 14 minutes, grabbing two rebounds without attempting a single shot. A quiet night individually, but one that still ended in a collective win for his team.
Fellow rookie Egor Demin set a career-high with 26 points, while Michael Porter Jr. struggled significantly (9 points on 2/13 shooting). This defeat marks the 15th loss in 17 games for a Nets team that remains last in both offense and shooting percentage in the NBA.
Brooklyn will host Washington on Saturday, while Orlando will stay home to face Utah.
