Nobody saw this coming. Heading into the fourth quarter of Game 2, Monaco appeared firmly in control, sitting on a comfortable double-digit lead on their home floor. What followed was one of the most dramatic collapses of the 2025-2026 Betclic Elite season, as Nanterre 92 unleashed a 36-18 fourth-quarter run to steal the win 98-89 and tie the series at one game apiece.
Schoormann and Prkačin Lead the Charge
Len Schoormann was Nanterre’s engine throughout the contest, finishing with 20 points and 5 assists in just under 32 minutes. The Harvard product was composed and decisive when the game was on the line. Roko Prkačin added 15 points and 7 rebounds in under 20 minutes of action, providing the kind of versatile scoring punch that proved impossible for Monaco to contain down the stretch.
Donta Scott chipped in 10 points, while Hugo Yimga-Moukouri delivered an efficient cameo with 11 points and 8 rebounds in only 13 minutes. But the most eye-catching individual performance may have belonged to Mitchell Saxen, who recorded a double-double with 10 points and a staggering 15 rebounds — including 9 offensive boards — in 25 minutes. The Saint Mary’s product dominated the glass and gave Nanterre crucial second-chance opportunities that proved pivotal in the comeback.
Monaco’s Shooting Advantage Wasn’t Enough
On paper, Monaco had the better shooting night from beyond the arc, connecting on 12 of 22 attempts (54.5%) compared to Nanterre’s 11 of 27 (40.7%). Yet those numbers ultimately meant nothing once the fourth quarter began unraveling for the hosts.
Elie Okobo led Monaco with 23 points and 8 assists in 31 minutes, doing everything he could to hold the lead. Yoan Makoundou was equally impressive with 20 points, and former Clemson standout Jaron Blossomgame contributed 18 points in nearly 33 minutes. Matthew Strazel added 13 points and 3 assists off the perimeter. Despite four players reaching double figures, Monaco could not withstand Nanterre’s relentless fourth-quarter pressure.
The Roca team’s defensive structure simply disintegrated when it mattered most, allowing Nanterre to score 36 points in the final period alone — a stunning figure for a road team fighting from behind.
Series Reset Ahead of Game 3 in Nanterre
After dropping Game 1 by 15 points on the same floor, Nanterre has now completely reset the dynamic of this semifinal series. The momentum has shifted dramatically, and the Hauts-de-Seine club will now host Game 3 on Saturday at 17:00 CEST with the home crowd behind them.
Monaco must regroup quickly. Their offensive firepower is undeniable, but the defensive collapse in the fourth quarter will require immediate answers from the coaching staff. For Nanterre, the belief is now real — and the Betclic Elite Finals are very much within reach.
