After shining against Bourges on Saturday with Charnay, Monique Akoa-Makani (1.79m, 24 years old) and Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi (1.87m, 26 years old) are expected to wear Tango Bourges Basket colors next season. Two significant reinforcements for the Cher club, confirmed by local media.

Two Charnay leaders heading to Bourges

What had been rumored for several weeks is now confirmed. Le Journal de Saône-et-Loire and Le Berry Républicain announced this weekend Monique Akoa-Makani’s arrival at Bourges for the 2025-2026 season. The 1.76m guard, a true revelation for CBBS this season, is expected to succeed Pauline Astier, who is expected in Prague. She won’t be coming alone: Maëva Djaldi-Tabdi, French international center, should also make her way to the Prado.

Both players are having an outstanding season with the surprising Charnay Basket Bourgogne Sud, currently third in La Boulangère Wonderligue. Monique Akoa-Makani is the team’s second-best scorer (14.5 points) and best assist provider (5.4), while also grabbing 4.1 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Maëva Djaldi-Tabdi is the third-best scorer (10.2 points) and best rebounder (7.7 rebounds) for CBBS.

Their latest joint achievement? Taking down Bourges this weekend in a tight match. A performance that likely reinforced the Tango management’s conviction about their potential.

At Bourges, Akoa-Makani could form an explosive backcourt with Tima Pouye (1.75m, 25 years old), while Djaldi-Tabdi would find an offensive system tailored to her interior skills under Olivier Lafargue’s leadership.
