The Miami Heat delivered an exceptional offensive performance Sunday night, crushing the Chicago Bulls 134-91, with Bam Adebayo and Pelle Larsson each scoring 20 points. This victory marks the third largest margin of victory in the Florida franchise’s history.

A Historic Domination for Miami

The maximum lead of 54 points is a season record for Miami, far surpassing the 45-point margin achieved against Memphis on October 24. This performance ranks as the second largest lead in the modern era for the Heat, who had beaten Memphis by 60 points on March 29, 2024.

For Chicago, this 54-point deficit represents the largest since a 58-point loss to Boston on December 8, 2018. The Bulls had already suffered two 41-point defeats this season, including one against this same Heat team on November 21.

A Strong Collective Despite Absences

Kel’el Ware contributed with 17 points, while Andrew Wiggins and Jaime Jaquez Jr. each added 14 points. Davion Mitchell, returning from a shoulder injury, scored 13 points for Miami. The team was playing without Norman Powell (personal reasons) and Tyler Herro (ribs). Powell was selected for the All-Star Game shortly after the start of the game, a first in his career.

On Chicago’s side, Coby White led the offense with 16 points, followed by Nikola Vucevic (12 points) and Ayo Dosunmu (10 points). Vlad Goldin scored his first NBA points in the fourth quarter with a spectacular dunk, imitating Michael Jordan‘s famous Jumpman logo.

This game completed a rare series of three consecutive games between the same teams in the regular season, a phenomenon that hadn’t occurred since 1972. Miami wins two of the three matchups in this exceptional series.
