Lionel Colson (6’9″, 22 years old) takes on a new challenge. French revelation of the 2024-2025 season in BNXT League with Dutch club PrismaWorx BAL, the 6’9″ big man has just signed with Spirou Charleroi for the 2025-2026 season. A well-deserved reward after a strong individual season.

A rising profile

Averaging 14.9 points and 7.3 rebounds in 36 games, Lionel Colson established himself as one of the most prominent big men in the BNXT League. Despite a difficult season for PrismaWorx BAL (6 wins, 30 losses), the Frenchman managed to stand out and attract attention from higher-ranked clubs.

« Powerful and mobile, » as described by his new club in their press release, « he quickly established himself as a reliable player in the league, capable of making an impact on both ends of the floor. » His arrival in Charleroi represents a logical step up for someone who has already proven his ability to adapt to new environments.

An unconventional path

Born in Nancy, Lionel Colson went through the youth academies of Évreux and Fos-sur-Mer, without ever being truly considered a prospect. « No one ever told me I had potential, » he told us last March. Yet it was through his determination that he began his professional career in Greece’s third division before joining the BNXT League.

At Kavala, he averaged 15.5 points and 13.4 rebounds. « It was my only offer, I had nothing to lose, » he explained. A risk that’s paying off today. By signing with Charleroi, he joins a historic Belgian basketball club and continues his upward trajectory. A new step in a journey unlike any other, but one that commands respect.
