LeBron James Leads Lakers to Victory Over Warriors Without Curry

LeBron James once again demonstrated his exceptional longevity by leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a dominant 119-103 victory over the Golden State Warriors Thursday night in San Francisco. At 41 years old and in his 23rd NBA season, the King posted 26 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds in a complete performance.
A Controlled Performance from LeBron James Despite Curry’s Absence
James shot with remarkable efficiency at 11/17 from the field, including three made three-pointers. The four-time NBA champion briefly left the court after apparently injuring his hand while blocking a shot by Pat Spencer with 6:05 remaining in the third quarter, but was able to return and finish the game.
The absence of Stephen Curry denied fans the highly anticipated matchup between the two superstars. The Warriors chose to rest their star point guard during this home back-to-back, opting to protect him following his recent return from a right knee injury that had kept him off the court for 27 games over more than two months.

Golden State Struggling With Their 41st Starting Lineup of the Season
The Warriors, reduced to just 10 healthy players, trotted out their 41st different starting lineup of the season. Brandin Podziemski and Nate Williams led Golden State’s offense with 17 points each, while newly signed center Charles Bassey recorded his second consecutive double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
For the Lakers, Deandre Ayton added 21 points and 5 rebounds, and Jake LaRavia contributed 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. This win allows Los Angeles to snap a three-game losing streak and record their fourth straight victory at Chase Center.
Coach Steve Kerr hopes to have reinforcements available for the trip to Sacramento on Friday, with big men Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis expected to return. The Warriors, currently the 10th seed in the West, are heading toward the play-in tournament after this final scheduled home game of the regular season.
