The Charlotte Hornets ended the impressive seven-game winning streak of the New York Knicks with a 114-103 victory at the Spectrum Center. This fifth consecutive win brings the Hornets (39-34) dangerously close to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, currently held by Miami.

The game was dominated by the Hornets’ 3-point shooting accuracy, as they hit 16 long-range shots. This collective performance was led by rookie phenom Kon Knueppel, who continues to write NBA history.

The young Hornets forward delivered a remarkable performance with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists, coming close to his first career triple-double. Even more impressive, Knueppel became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 250 three-pointers made in a season, with his six made threes of the night.

This performance continues his excellent rookie season, as he already holds the NBA record for most three-pointers made by a rookie. LaMelo Ball (22 points), Brandon Miller (21 points, 8 rebounds) and Coby White (17 points) perfectly supported their young teammate in this impressive victory.

On the Knicks side (48-26), Jalen Brunson tried everything with 26 points and 13 assists, but failed to hit a single three-pointer (0/6). OG Anunoby added 17 points with an excellent 5/9 from long range, while Karl-Anthony Towns was quiet with only 13 points and 3 rebounds.

This loss comes at the worst time for New York, who had the opportunity to clinch their playoff spot with a victory. The Hornets, carried by the electric atmosphere of their home crowd and their exceptional collective shooting, seized this opportunity to stay in the playoff race in an increasingly tight Eastern Conference.
