The Houston Rockets delivered a remarkable collective performance on Tuesday, winning 113-99 against the Toronto Raptors. Kevin Durant once again demonstrated his formidable efficiency by scoring 29 points on 12/16 shooting, along with 7 rebounds. The former MVP was particularly dominant in the first half with 22 of his 29 points.

Amen Thompson continues his rise with 23 points, surpassing the 20-point mark for the fifth time in six games. The young guard converted 6 of his 10 field goal attempts while making 10 free throws, confirming his consistent progress this season.

Jabari Smith Jr. also contributed with 23 points, while Alperen Sengun recorded a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. This collective performance allowed the Rockets to reach third place in the Western Conference, confirming their excellent momentum.

Houston particularly dominated in the paint with 53 rebounds versus only 30 for Toronto, creating 22 second-chance points compared to 5 for the Raptors. Despite a first quarter with 60% shooting accuracy and six turnovers that allowed the Raptors to tie at 29-29, the Rockets took control at the end of the first half with a 14-4 run to lead 58-49 at halftime.

On the Raptors’ side, Scottie Barnes and R.J. Barrett led the offense with 24 and 25 points respectively. However, Toronto struggled from long range with only 9 makes on 36 three-point attempts, a decisive factor in this loss. This poor performance reduces the Raptors’ lead over the Orlando Magic to just half a game for fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Raptors will travel Wednesday to face the New Orleans Pelicans, while the Rockets will take on the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.
