The Atlanta Hawks continue their impressive streak with a 124-112 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Led by an excellent Nickeil Alexander-Walker (29 points) and Jalen Johnson (27 points), the Hawks secured their seventh consecutive victory, the longest active streak in the NBA.

Atlanta dominated most of the game but only pulled away in the fourth quarter. Dallas managed to tie the score at 97 on a step-back jumper by Khris Middleton with just over nine minutes remaining, before the Hawks regained control for good.

Alexander-Walker seals the victory, Flagg contained by Atlanta’s defense

Alexander-Walker hit two consecutive 3-pointers in the final minutes to end the Mavericks’ hopes. Rookie sensation Cooper Flagg was limited to 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting, closely guarded all night by Dyson Daniels, the Hawks’ top defender.

Dyson Daniels also proved valuable on offense with 14 points and 10 assists, reaching the 1,000 career field goals milestone in the process. Onyeka Okongwu contributed with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. For Dallas, Klay Thompson finished as the top scorer with 21 points.

This seven-game winning streak is the longest for the Hawks since the 2021-2022 season. Six of these victories came at home, allowing Atlanta to reach .500 at home (16-16) for the first time since late November.

The Hawks, currently ninth in the Eastern Conference, trail Orlando by 2.5 games for sixth place and the final direct playoff spot. Atlanta hopes to avoid a fifth consecutive play-in tournament appearance with a strong finish to the season.

The Dallas Mavericks, in full rebuild mode around young Cooper Flagg (19 years old), suffered their eighth straight loss and their 18th defeat in 20 games. The Atlanta crowd didn’t miss the opportunity to taunt them with chants of « Who are you? Who are you? ».
