Julien Pincemin takes the helm of C’Chartres Métropole Women’s Basketball

Relegated to the second division after a difficult season, C’Chartres Métropole Women’s Basketball announced the signing of Julien Pincemin as head coach, and Myriam Martin as assistant coach.
Described as « a rising figure in French women’s basketball » by the club, Julien Pincemin will have the task of leading Chartres’ project as it begins a new chapter. His signing « coincides with a pivotal period for the club, which now plays at the Colisée and has experienced its first time at the highest level. His experience, passion for team play, and commitment to youth development are major assets to support the club in this new phase of its development, » explains Chartres’ management in their statement.
At 41, Julien Pincemin had his first experience as head coach between 2022 and 2024 at Saint-Amand Hainaut, where he was unable to keep the team in La Boulangère Wonderligue. Before that, Pincemin had known League 2 first as an assistant at Charleville-Mézières (2009-2018) then at Nice for a season, where the head coach’s dismissal mid-season gave him his first opportunity as number one. He then joined Champagne basket (2019-2022) where he came close to the top of the championship.
« The club is evolving quickly, it wants to establish itself at the highest level »
His collaboration with Chartres, which wishes to start fresh from the second division, comes at the perfect time for advancement. « I’ve had the opportunity to play against Chartres several times and I’ve followed the club’s impressive rise, » savors the new coach. « You can feel that the club is evolving quickly and wants to establish itself at the highest level of French women’s basketball. The available infrastructure is extraordinary and I’m eager to discover it. The various discussions I’ve had with the presidents confirmed that this is a family club that continues its professionalization and is guided by passion. So it’s a project that aligned with my values, in which I can grow. I’m eager to come, meet the partners, volunteers, and staff, and meet this crowd that seems very, very passionate! »
To support him, the club has brought in Myriam Martin as assistant. Assistant coach at Monaco Basket Association (MBA), Myriam Martin has also experienced international level in the French women’s national team staff last year, where she took on the role of video analyst. Also a federal technical advisor (CTF), her knowledge of basketball at multiple levels can be a significant asset in Chartres’ endeavor.
