Jaylon Tyson drops 39 points and leads Cleveland to crucial victory in Philadelphia

Jaylon Tyson delivered a remarkable performance as his team secured a 117-115 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, completing a two-game sweep on the road. This spectacular win was orchestrated by an exceptional performance from Jaylon Tyson, who scored 39 points, a career-high.
A spectacular comeback led by Tyson and Mobley
Despite an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter, the Cleveland Cavaliers showed exemplary character to turn the situation around. Evan Mobley stepped up in the final moments by scoring the game-winning basket on a dunk with 4.8 seconds remaining, securing the victory for his team.
Donovan Mitchell also made a valuable contribution with 13 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, perfectly orchestrating Cleveland’s offense. This collective performance allowed the Cavaliers to overcome the absences of Darius Garland (right big toe pain) and Sam Merrill (right hand sprain), both injured in the previous game.
On the 76ers side, Joel Embiid fought hard with 33 points, while Tyrese Maxey added 22 points, nine assists and five steals. Despite these solid individual performances, Philadelphia couldn’t maintain the lead they had built after Paul George’s basket gave them an 11-point advantage with 8:47 remaining.
A thrilling finish that goes Cleveland’s way
The turning point of the game came during a 13-2 run by the Cavaliers, capped by a three-pointer from De’Andre Hunter with 5:53 remaining, tying the score at 102. Although Philadelphia temporarily regained a seven-point lead after three consecutive Cleveland turnovers, the visitors kept the pressure on.
Hunter gave the Cavaliers the lead with a layup with just over a minute remaining. After Mobley made one of two free throws with 22.7 seconds left, Maxey tied it on a runner with 8.1 seconds on the clock. But Jaylon Tyson perfectly fed Mobley near the basket for the decisive dunk, before Maxey’s desperation heave from half-court missed the mark.
This second consecutive victory in Philadelphia follows Wednesday’s 133-107 win, confirming the excellent form of the Cavaliers who will host Oklahoma City next Monday.
