A few minutes before his departure for Monaco, Théo Magrit (1.89m, 24 years old, who joined CSP in late October as a substitute for Vincent Amsellem), reflected on his team’s great victory against Chalon-sur-Saône. A victory that kicks off 2026 well after a difficult end to 2025:

« This victory did everyone good. It relaunches a bit of momentum, at least I hope so. We felt that we were a bit less tense at practice. But obviously, it’s a victory we had been waiting for a long time. We were really in a bad spell. But beyond the victory, I really liked the way we played, especially the first half. I think we need to use this as a foundation, and that it should be the basis of every game until the end of the season, in terms of intensity and desire. »

Delighted to face Monaco, whom he has already faced twice in the first half of the season with Boulazac and then Limoges, the northerner openly shared his impressions about them:

« I watch the EuroLeague very often, so of course I’ve seen Monaco. They’re one of the best teams in Europe. They recently played against Valencia in the EuroLeague, and they had a great performance. It’s a very impressive team, they have three or four top European-level players at every position. For a basketball player, it’s a treat to play against this kind of team. It’s a level that most of us are aiming for, so being able to compete against players of this caliber allows us to measure ourselves, and also to see the difference. But in any case, for me, it’s a super exciting challenge. »

The Limoges CSP point guard then discussed what, in his opinion, would be the key to the game against Monaco, who are on a ten-game winning streak across all competitions:

« I think defensively, we’ll need to try to control them. They’re very good at getting defensive stops and running to score easy baskets afterwards, especially in the French championship, that’s what they do best. And play a ‘spoiler’ game, as we say, never being more than 15 points behind, always staying in the game and trying to stay within 5 or 6 points maximum until the end of the game and try to maybe make them doubt a bit, but above all, try to stay close to them throughout the game, and see what happens at the end. »

Currently in 13th place, Théo Magrit and his teammates will face the Monegasques, current league leaders, this Saturday in Monaco, with the ambition of pulling off a major upset. In the past, they have succeeded. Without the two Nicolas, Lang and Jovanovic, it would be an immense achievement.
