After years of rumors, Nikola Mirotic (2.08m, 34) is officially an AS Monaco player. The former EuroLeague MVP was presented to the media ahead of the LNB Supercut – an opportunity for him to discuss his choice to join the Principality at age 34.

European champion with Spain in 2015, the EuroLeague MVP of the 2021-22 season has never won the continent’s top club competition, which is what he aims to achieve with the Roca Team. « I chose this team because I saw it was an ambitious team with big goals, » he smiles. « It’s a team that really wants to create something special. Though ASM fell just short, the Spanish-Montenegrin envisions taking the team to the next level. « I hope to be the piece Monaco was missing to reach its goals. I like pressure. »

To overcome this and achieve his lofty goals, Mirotic can count on another high-caliber player: Mike James, who returned a week ago.
