The Miami Heat secured a valuable victory on the road against the Chicago Bulls (116-113) Thursday night, despite a thrilling finish that kept spectators on the edge of their seats until the final seconds. Norman Powell (21 points) and Bam Adebayo (20 points, 12 rebounds) were the main architects of this road success.
The Bulls spent much of the game chasing the score, facing a 13-point deficit in the final quarter. Down 104-92 with 8 minutes and 2 seconds remaining, Chicago’s players then began a spectacular comeback by scoring 21 points against only 12 for Miami.
Ayo Dosunmu, the Bulls’ leading scorer with 23 points, particularly shined during this decisive sequence. The guard first converted two consecutive layups before adding a 3-pointer to bring his team within three points (110-107) with 2 minutes and 5 seconds remaining.

After a basket by Powell, Nikola Vucevic maintained the pressure with a hook shot that brought Chicago within three points (112-109) with 54 seconds left on the clock. The suspense reached its peak when Coby White, after being fouled by Pelle Larsson, converted both free throws to leave just a one-point gap (114-113) with 7 seconds remaining.
It was ultimately Pelle Larsson who secured the final victory for the Heat by throwing down a dunk with 2 seconds left on the buzzer, extending the lead to three points (116-113). White’s desperate 3-point attempt missed the mark, giving the visitors the win.
In addition to the performances of Powell and Adebayo, Miami could count on the 19 points and 10 rebounds from Jaime Jaquez Jr, as well as the 15 points from Larsson. On Chicago’s side, Vucevic posted a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds), while Matas Buzelis (16 points), Kevin Huerter (15 points) and White (14 points) also contributed to the offensive effort.
The two teams will meet again Saturday night in Miami for the second installment of their three consecutive matchups scheduled on the calendar.
