A Return to His Roots for Dimitri Radnic
Originally from Autun, Burgundy, Dimitri Radnic has always evolved in a basketball-rich environment, with his father having played in Nationale 1 for CS Autun Basket. After going through Dijon’s youth academy and briefly through Vichy, he flourished at JDA Dijon where he had his best development years, notably averaging 17.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists in his final youth season.
It was under Vincent Dumestre’s guidance that he took his young career to the next level, a connection he’s now ready to revive at Châlons-Reims.
A Carefully Built Career Path
Coming into his own later in his career, Dimitri Radnic has always been clear about his path. In an interview with BeBasket in 2020, he stated: « My goal is to play in Pro B and get playing time. » Four years later, that goal has been achieved.
As one of Pro B’s top ball thieves and a reliable scorer this season, he brings real intensity to Champagne Basket on both ends of the floor. This signing aligns with the club’s clear strategy of investing in rising players who can perform now while still having significant room for growth.
An Ambitious Roster for Champagne Basket
After being stuck in the bottom half of the table this season, Champagne Basket is rebuilding ambitiously. By bringing in Radnic, the club is betting on a complete and hardworking profile, someone capable of quickly integrating into the team and developing under a coach he already knows well.
This move also marks a turning point for the player, who now aims higher. At 25, he’s entering his prime and could become one of the leaders in the Champagne project.
