Cholet Basket: renewed Prospects roster around Aaron Towo-Nansi for 2025-2026 season

Aaron Towo-Nansi will be one of the pillars of Cholet Basket’s Prospects team in 2025-2026. The point guard, expected to gradually integrate into the professional squad, will have the heavy task of guiding a deeply restructured group this summer. Regis Boissie and his staff will need to quickly create chemistry between the young players coming up from the academy, the remaining elements and the new recruits. Ouest-France reviewed the squad composition.
A busy offseason in Cholet
Fourth in the Prospects championship in 2024-2025, the Cholet U21s are starting a new cycle. The offseason was marked by five significant departures: Robin Pluvy (Toulouse), Soren Bracq and Romain Valakou (Gravelines-Dunkerque), Leopold Levillain (Long Beach State) and Mohamed Sankhe (loaned to Vichy). As a result, only Aaron Towo-Nansi remains from the starting five.
Erwan Ntsantso Djoni and Gabin Lefort will see their roles grow, while Nils Lobry-Pathouot will fully join the Prospects squad. Two U18s, Boubacar Traore and Luca Rapini, will also make appearances in the higher category.
Five recruits to build a new structure
To support this transition, Cholet has recruited five young profiles. At point guard, the club bet on Ange Buzzer (1.88m, born 2007), an athletic guard from Besançon (NM1).
More atypical profile, Malo Boulanger (1.94m, 2007), considered a « prodigy » by the Reunion regional committee, arrives from La Tamponnaise, Reunion champion. « Contacts in Reunion told me about his profile and from there, I started following him regularly. He intrigued me, he has talent, » confides his future coach Regis Boissie to Ouest-France.
Trained in Rouen and having played for ASVEL, Thomas Duchamp de la Geneste (1.99m, born 2006) will complete the perimeter. Averaging 8.2 points last season, he’ll need to find more consistency.
In the paint, Cholet brought in from Saint-Vallier Julien Wilamowski (2.00m, 2006), a 4-5 position player capable of scoring (16 points and 6 rebounds against Quimper in NM1) and Sublime Gbiegba (2.01m, 2005), a promising but still inexperienced big man, due to last season being cut short by a concussion.
A collective to rebuild to aim for the top
As usual, Cholet Basket will need to rebuild quickly to play leading roles in a very competitive Prospects championship. The responsibility for the group’s progression lies with Regis Boissie, experienced at this level. With a core centered around Aaron Towo-Nansi, and several high-potential gambles, the Cholet dynamic should once again attract attention.
