Aaron Towo-Nansi’s great evening: a record with U21s then first appearance in Betclic ELITE

Aaron Towo-Nansi already dominated in his return with Cholet U21s. The 16-year-old point guard scored 26 points and dished out 8 assists in the victory against Strasbourg (81-72), getting off to a great start in a season where he'll be expected to perform with both youth and pros in a defined role. The Cholet U21s perfectly started their season by defeating Strasbourg (81-72), led by a record performance from Aaron Towo-Nansi. The 16-year-old point guard made a strong impression in his first official game of the year with Cholet, before playing his first Betclic ELITE game that same evening against SIG.

The game started poorly for the young Cholet team, who found themselves down 9-0 early against their Strasbourg opponents. But Aaron Towo-Nansi’s teammates showed character in their response, taking the lead before the end of the first quarter. Once in control, the Cholet U21s managed the rest of the game perfectly to secure a clear 81-72 victory in this first official game of the season.

First Betclic ELITE appearance for the Rennes prodigy

Aaron Towo-Nansi was the main architect of this success with impressive statistics. In 33 minutes of play, the 16-year-old point guard scored 26 points (his U21 record) on 9/14 shooting including 3/7 from three-point range, while also dishing out 8 assists. His defensive contribution was also notable with 4 steals and even 1 block. He finished with a 29 efficiency rating, also his best U21 performance.

Later that evening, the Rennes native played the first minute of the second quarter, marking his first Betclic ELITE appearance. Clean on offense, he got caught in a screen and committed a foul on Mike Davis Jr’s three-point attempt before being replaced by captain T.J. Campbell.
