Monaco back in Future Trophy final after victory over Nanterre

Like in 2024, Bourg and Monaco will meet in the Future Trophy final. But this time, the game will take place at Ekinox, home of an undefeated JL Bourg this season. This Sunday at 4:30 PM, the two best youth teams of the season will face off in a dream final.
The second semifinal left no room for suspense. Against a JDA Dijon without answers, JL Bourg took the lead in the first half (42-35), before blowing the game open in the third quarter (29-15).
Led by Anatole Humeau (17 points on 7/13) and a very efficient Juwan Ekanga-Ehawa (15 points on 4/8 in 20 minutes), Nicolas Croisy’s team imposed their rhythm and found their shooting touch (44% vs 32% the day before). Despite limited offensive production (5 points) but valuable rebounding (14 boards), Wilson Jacques made his presence felt in the paint. Leon Sifferlin also contributed (12 points), though he wasn’t as successful as against Strasbourg.
But one of the game’s highlights was Bourg’s defensive performance against Marius Balanca. The Dijon guard, who scored 28 points in the quarterfinals, was contained to just 3 points on 1/6 shooting.

Winner of the 2024 edition in Nancy against Monaco, Bourg will now have home court advantage. Undefeated at home this season, Nicolas Croisy’s team will be slight favorites to retain their title against a revenge-seeking Roca Team. This promises a very high-level final this Sunday at 4:30 PM.
