David Joplin, a 23-year-old American power forward from Marquette University, is joining BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque according to our sources for his first professional experience. With this signing, the maritime club continues to build an ambitious roster around the already confirmed arrivals of Edon Maxhuni, Mike Lewis II, Gauthier Denis and Soren Bracq, while Valentin Chery, Vafessa Fofana and Chris Babb remain and young Louka Letailleur turns professional.
A Solid NCAA Career
Milwaukee native David Joplin completed a full career with the Marquette Golden Eagles (Big East Conference), becoming their record holder for games played (139). Coming from Brookfield Central High School, where he averaged 25.6 points and 10.6 rebounds in his senior year, he gradually gained prominence in NCAA.
Named Sixth Man of the Year in the Big East in 2022-2023, he became a full-time starter in his last two seasons, averaging 10.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 2023-2024. During the 2024-2025 season, he confirmed his consistency with several strong performances, including 30 points against DePaul and 29 against Georgia. This earned him an invitation from the Milwaukee Bucks for the Las Vegas Summer League last month. However, not securing an NBA contract led him to explore other markets.
A Reliable Shooter for BCM
A modern power forward capable of spacing the floor with his long-range shooting (229 three-pointers made in his NCAA career), Joplin promises to be an additional offensive threat for BCM. He was also selected to the All-Big East Third Team in 2024-2025 and named MVP of the NABC All-Star Game during the NCAA Final Four.
Jean-Christophe Prat can count on a versatile profile, capable of scoring from behind the arc and contributing to rebounding.
