Victor Wembanyama once again demonstrated his impact on the San Antonio Spurs‘ game. With 18 points and 8 rebounds, the French center guided his team to a convincing 132-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.

A collective performance by the Spurs

The French phenomenon shot 7 for 14 with two 3-pointers and three assists, contributing to the Spurs’ first win in Sacramento in over two years. Wembanyama wasn’t alone in this display of force, as former Kings player De’Aaron Fox added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for San Antonio.

Keldon Johnson also shined with 18 points, while Dylan Harper scored 15. This collective performance perfectly illustrates the current momentum of the Spurs (51-18), who have won eight of their last nine games. The Texas team also improved their record to 11-3 in the second games of back-to-back sets.

The Spurs took the lead from the first quarter thanks to Harrison Barnes, former Kings player, Keldon Johnson and Stephon Castle. This trio combined shot 9 for 10 and scored 22 points, allowing San Antonio to lead 39-22.

Total domination without forcing

The lead widened in the second quarter, reaching 60-27 after a 3-pointer by Lindy Waters III. The Spurs already led by 31 points at halftime and even had a 41-point lead in the third quarter. The team made 25 of 49 3-point attempts, illustrating their exceptional offensive efficiency.

On the Kings’ side (18-52), Maxime Raynaud stood out with 32 points and 9 rebounds, while Doug McDermott added 12 points. Russell Westbrook also made history by delivering 10 assists, allowing him to pass Mark Jackson and Steve Nash to move into fifth place in the NBA all-time assists ranking.

This 25th road win of the season for the Spurs ends a strong stretch for the Kings, who had won four of their last five games. Wembanyama spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench, as the victory was already secured.
