Victor Wembanyama lights up from 3-point range: Spurs defeat Celtics

Victor Wembanyama delivered a standout performance against the Celtics, finishing with 39 points and 11 rebounds in the Spurs’ 125–116 victory. The French center tied his personal record with eight three-pointers on 15 attempts, once again showcasing the full range of his offensive game.
San Antonio’s fifth straight win was also helped by Jaylen Brown’s early ejection in the first half. The Celtics wing lost his composure after disputing a referee’s call, receiving two quick technical fouls that left Boston without one of its primary offensive threats.

A decisive turning point with Jaylen Brown’s ejection
The game shifted three minutes before halftime when Jaylen Brown was ejected after losing his temper with the officiating crew. The Celtics wing believed he had been fouled by Stephon Castle on a play where he lost the ball, but the referees let it go. His frustration led to two quick technical fouls and an automatic ejection.
Despite that major loss, Boston still got strong performances from several players. Derrick White led the way with 34 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum added 24 points in just his third game back from injury. Ron Harper Jr. also stood out with a career-high 22 points, taking advantage of the additional minutes created by Brown’s early exit.

For San Antonio, De’Aaron Fox contributed 25 points and 9 assists, while Stephon Castle added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. This victory allows the Spurs to maintain their excellent momentum with an impressive record of 16 wins in 17 games since February 1st.
The Celtics, despite a good three-point percentage (37%), could not contain the offensive efficiency of the Spurs who shot 52% from the field and 43% from beyond the arc. San Antonio took control in the second half thanks to a 12-0 run that sealed the outcome of the game in the final minutes.
