Day’Ron Sharpe tied his season high with 19 points, while Ochai Agbaji added 18 points to help the Brooklyn Nets defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 126-115 on Monday night. This victory marks the second consecutive win for the New York team.
Nolan Traoré contributed 17 points for the Nets, who were coming off an improbable 107-105 victory on the road against Detroit on Saturday night, ending a 10-game losing streak. Brooklyn, which rested its leading scorer Michael Porter Jr., had six players scoring 10 or more points.
Memphis Missing Key Players, Brooklyn Takes Advantage
The Grizzlies showed up with only eight available players, missing many key elements. JJa Morant (left elbow), Scotty Pippen Jr. (right toe pain), Santi Aldama (knee), Ty Jerome (calf), Cedrix Coward (right knee), rookie Taj Gibson (conditioning), Taylor Hendricks (right thumb pain) and Brandon Clarke (calf) were all absent. Zach Edey and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are out for the rest of the season.
Despite these absences, Memphis could count on Rayan Rupert, who set a new career high with 20 points, and Javon Small who added 19 points. However, it wasn’t enough against the Nets’ depth, who dominated the bench scoring with a 67-40 point advantage.

Brooklyn led throughout the third quarter before taking definitive control at the start of the fourth period. Traoré hit a 3-pointer that pushed the Nets’ lead to 101-90, before Agbaji followed with two baskets on passes from Ziaire Williams to extend the gap to 15 points.
The Grizzlies, who have lost four straight games and 11 of their last 14 contests, will travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday. The Nets will host Detroit to confirm this positive momentum regained after difficult weeks.
