A Film About Agent Duo Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana in Development with Raphaël Quenard and Jean-Pascal Zadi
Gabriel Pantel-Jouve

It’s not every day that a French film takes an interest in the world of basketball. Anthony Marciano, director of Play (2019) and Les Gamins (2024), tackles the extraordinary story of two Frenchmen who shook up the codes of a system long reserved for Americans. The American Dream tells the story of Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana, who became the most influential agents in French basketball.
Nobody would have bet a penny on them. Jérémy, a young man from the ZAC de l’Elnon in Saint-Amand-les-Eaux stuck behind the counter of a video store in Amiens, and Bouna, a maintenance worker at Orly Airport: without contacts, without money, and with more than approximate English skills, nothing destined them to become agents who matter in the NBA.
In the 1990s, the two men took over the Comsport agency and patiently built their network. Today, Bouna Ndiaye and Jérémy Medjana are among the most respected agents in the American professional league, representing Nicolas Batum, Evan Fournier, Rudy Gobert, and especially Victor Wembanyama, the French phenomenon who has been electrifying the NBA since his arrival in 2023.
The trailer reveals a comedy carried by the César-winning duo of Jean-Pascal Zadi and Raphaël Quenard. The two actors reunite for the sixth time after Smoking Causes Coughing (2022), Final Cut (2022), Why Are You Smiling? (2024), Beating Hearts (2024), and I Love Peru (2025). Jean-Pascal Zadi slips into Bouna’s shoes, while Raphaël Quenard plays Jérémy.
This trailer highlights the resourcefulness that allowed them to conquer the closed world of American professional basketball. We glimpse the first risky bets, the rejections they faced, but also the decisive encounters that would change the course of their careers. A light-hearted immersion into the behind-the-scenes of basketball business, carried by a popular duo that fits into the tradition of French comedy tandems.
The cast also includes Josh Casaubon, Sean Barnes, Magalie Langrais, Gabriel Caballero, and Etienne Guillou-Kervern. The American Dream hits theaters on February 18, 2026, distributed by Gaumont. It’s worth noting that it is produced by businessman Luc Dayan, who is currently the president of the Levallois club, the Metropolitans.
