After more than a decade without finding a buyer, Michael Jordan‘s iconic mansion in Highland Park, Illinois, is getting a second life. New owner John Cooper has decided to list this legendary property on Airbnb, offering fans a unique opportunity to live like « His Airness » during his glory years with the Bulls.

Exceptional rental conditions

This 32,683 sq ft mansion, built specially for Jordan in 1995, impresses with its size and amenities. The estate features seven bedrooms and 17 bathrooms, spread across 7.4 acres of land. Tenants can enjoy a private basketball court, professional putting green, infinity pool, movie theater, gym, cigar lounge, wine cellar, and even a 14-car garage.

The listing, titled « Champions Point Legendary Living », also includes a fishing pond, pool tables, and saltwater aquariums. The entrance gate still displays the mythical number 23 of the Bulls legend, reminding visitors of the original owner’s identity.

Renting this exceptional estate comes with strict conditions. Clients must book for a minimum of seven nights, which can cost over $100,000 per week, or about $15,000 per night. A security deposit of $25,000 is required, along with signing a liability waiver and confidentiality agreement. The property can’t accommodate more than 12 guests, and pets and parties are prohibited.

« I’m still considering different uses for the property, » explains John Cooper. « In the meantime, short-term rentals are an authorized use to showcase the property and generate income. »

This initiative comes after a long real estate saga. Jordan initially listed his home in 2012 for $29 million, before having to accept a sale at $9.5 million last December, nearly 70% less than the initial price. The MJ-specific design and suburban Illinois location had made the sale difficult for twelve years.
