Limited role at Champagne Basket in 2024-2025
After reaching the promotion playoff finals against ESSM Le Portel, Alliance Sport Alsace has developed real expertise in recent years building competitive teams with young potential players to launch or relaunch. We particularly remember Tom Digbeu’s impressive stint there in 2022-2023.
Following the same approach, the Gries-based club has secured the services of Killian Malwaya. In U13 and U15, this quick wing player was considered a major prospect from the 2005 generation, which also produced players like Zaccharie Risacher and Alexandre Sarr. However, at ASVEL, the former Marne-la-Vallée prodigy hit a ceiling. In Paris, he remained confined to the weak Espoirs team.
He eventually turned to Pro B, with a first stint at ALM Évreux, where he was productive (10.5 points at 52.6% shooting, including 38.6% from 3-point range, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 22 minutes over 32 games) in a challenging team context (sporting relegation). Signed by Champagne Basket in 2024, he had an even quieter season (5.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15 minutes over 33 games played) with continued struggles from outside shooting (27.3% from 3-point range).
At Alliance Sport Alsace, under Nebojša Bogavac’s guidance, this long, fast and athletic small forward hopes to continue developing in a team that should again be able to compete at the top in ELITE 2 in 2025-2026.
