Russell Westbrook Crosses 27,000 Career NBA Points

Russell Westbrook reached a new historic milestone Monday night during the game between the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans. The veteran point guard scored his 27,000th career point, becoming the 14th player in NBA history to reach this prestigious plateau.
A Place of Honor in NBA History
With this achievement, Westbrook positions himself just behind Elvin Hayes, who holds the 13th spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. At 36 years old, the former MVP maintains a remarkable average of 21 points per game across his 18 professional seasons, allowing him to progressively climb this legendary hierarchy.
Russell Westbrook becomes only the second player in NBA History to score 27,000 points, dish 10,000 assists, snag 8,000 rebounds, and record 2,000 steals in his career. The only other is LeBron James.

Westbrook’s achievement isn’t limited to points scored. The Long Beach native also holds the 7th spot on the all-time assists leaderboard, making him one of only three players to appear in the top 15 of both major statistical categories, alongside LeBron James and James Harden.
Mr. Triple-Double Continues to Impress in Sacramento
Russell Westbrook still holds the all-time triple-double record with a comfortable lead, even though Nikola Jokić is beginning to close the gap. This statistic remains one of the most defining signatures of Westbrook’s career, having revolutionized the modern basketball era with his exceptional versatility.
After declining his player option with Denver last summer, Westbrook experienced a long period of uncertainty before signing with Sacramento in October. Despite solid statistics of 15.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game this season, the nine-time All-Star hasn’t been able to prevent the Kings from sinking in the standings, with the team currently occupying last place in the Western Conference with a record of 12 wins and 42 losses.
This new milestone in Westbrook’s legendary career confirms his status as a modern basketball icon and his ability to maintain a remarkable level of excellence after nearly two decades at the highest level.
