The Toronto Raptors delivered a powerful performance at the Golden 1 Center, defeating the Sacramento Kings 122-109. This victory perfectly illustrates the Raptors’ surprising season, as they now boast a 26-19 record, contrasting sharply with the Kings’ struggles (12-33).
The first half belonged to the Kings, who led 61-52 at halftime. Malik Monk was perfect from the field, making all 5 attempts including 3 three-pointers for 13 points in 14 minutes. Zach LaVine also got Sacramento off to a strong start with 10 points in the first quarter.

The turning point came after halftime. The Raptors, the league’s sixth-best defense this season, completely reversed the situation with a phenomenal third quarter. Toronto dominated the period 43-21, shooting 73% from the field and 66% from three-point range.
Scottie Barnes was the main architect of this spectacular comeback, scoring 14 of his 23 points in that quarter alone. This performance allowed the Raptors to turn a 9-point deficit into a 13-point lead heading into the final period.
The Kings attempted a final push late in the game with a 13-2 run, but the Raptors quickly regained control to win comfortably. Sacramento now has a disastrous 2-27 record when trailing after three quarters.
Russell Westbrook led the Kings’ offense with 23 points, marking his fourth consecutive game with over 20 points. « Very grateful to the Sacramento franchise » Westbrook said after being honored by the organization. « I will never forget this special day and I’m grateful for all of this. »

Rookie Dylan Cardwell delivered the game of his young career with 13 rebounds and 4 blocks in 25 minutes. He becomes the fifth rookie in the Sacramento era to finish a game with at least 13 rebounds and 4 blocks, joining a prestigious list that includes DeMarcus Cousins.
The absence of Domantas Sabonis, rested due to left knee issues, was sorely felt. Sacramento’s 16 turnovers directly gave the Raptors 25 points, a difference that proved decisive in the outcome.
This loss keeps the Kings just 3 wins ahead of New Orleans, the league’s worst record: an important detail regarding their 2026 draft pick which will go to Atlanta if it falls outside the top 4.
