Who could have predicted that a 6'2" teenager would become a formidable NBA big man? Paul Reed, nicknamed "BBall Paul", underwent a spectacular physical transformation at Wekiva High School, gaining nearly 6 inches to reach 6'8" in his senior year. This growth spurt revealed a raw talent that led him all the way to the Florida State Championship final, where he posted impressive averages of 18.2 points and 11.4 rebounds, earning him the Central Florida Player of the Year award.

A three-star recruit, Reed chose DePaul University despite several other college offers. His time with the Blue Demons was marked by steady improvement, fueled by a remarkable work ethic he partly credits to teammate Max Strus. That determination led him to enter the 2020 NBA Draft after his junior season.
