Player Profile

Mouhamed Thiam
French Center (6'10", born in 2002)

Born in 2002 and standing at 6'10", Mouhamed Thiam is a French center who has played for various youth academies and National 1 clubs. Despite starting basketball late at age 18 in Aubagne (Bouches-du-Rhône), he quickly gained attention thanks to his size, mobility, and potential.

In 2019, he joined Nanterre 92's youth academy where he played with the U21 team. Though rarely used in his first two seasons (0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds in 6 minutes during the 2019-2020 season), he still entered his name in the 2020 NBA Draft, a move intended to gain scouts' attention.

After a stint with ESSM Le Portel's youth team (6.6 points, 5 rebounds in 18 minutes), he joined La Rochelle for the 2022-2023 season in Pro B. He excelled with the U21s, averaging 17.2 points and 13.9 rebounds, with occasional appearances for the first team.

In 2023-2024, he played for Loon-Plage (NM1) before signing with Mulhouse, where he played 39 games averaging 5.1 points and 4.1 rebounds for the National 1 playoff finalist. In summer 2025, he returned to Loon-Plage.

An athletic center with a still-developing profile, Mouhamed Thiam remains a solid option in the paint and a player to watch in French basketball.
