Player Profile
Few NBA players can claim to have turned a series of devastating injuries into a springboard toward a championship title. Yet Damion Lee, a 6'6" guard, achieved exactly that remarkable feat.
During his college years, Lee seemed destined to see his career cut short. A torn ACL followed by a broken hand could have shattered any player's dreams. But the Baltimore native drew from those hardships a determination that led him toward excellence. At Drexel, he accumulated over 2,000 career points while distinguishing himself with his free throw accuracy, before completing his development at Louisville.
Going undrafted in the NBA Draft, Lee took the challenging path through the G League to earn his spot in the big league. His journey took him from Atlanta to the Golden State Warriors, where his perseverance found its greatest reward: an NBA championship in 2022 alongside Stephen Curry.
His relationship with the Curry family goes beyond the purely professional. By marrying Sydel Curry in 2018, Lee became part of one of the most respected dynasties in modern basketball. A father of two children with a third on the way, he balances his career with community involvement through his L.E.E. Way Foundation, dedicated to youth development.
Now with the Phoenix Suns, Lee continues to embody the philosophy of resilience that has always driven him. His admiration for Allan Houston reflects his respect for players who have combined talent with character — a path he himself walks with consistency.
