ERA Basketball Nymburk moved one step closer to the Czech title after securing a second consecutive victory over BK KVIS Pardubice in the Maxa NBL Finals. Playing at home, Nymburk controlled the game well enough to win 80-74 and take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Sehnal Leads Nymburk’s Balanced Attack
Ondrej Sehnal was the driving force for the hosts, finishing with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in just under 29 minutes. His performance was the clearest difference-maker on the night, giving Nymburk a reliable offensive engine throughout the contest. Jaromir Bohacik added 10 points and 4 assists, while Frantisek Rylich contributed a well-rounded 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in under 20 minutes of action. Matej Svoboda and Martin Kriz each chipped in 8 points, underlining the collective depth that has defined Nymburk’s Finals run so far.
Pardubice’s American Duo Couldn’t Tip the Balance
For Pardubice, Trey Bonham was the most dangerous player on the floor. The American forward, who played his college basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, posted 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 26 minutes and gave Nymburk genuine problems. Kamil Svrdlik added 13 points, and both Lubos Kovar and Joe Bryant Jr. — a Norfolk State University product — finished with 12 points apiece. Despite the relatively balanced scoring across the roster, Pardubice could never quite string together enough stops or runs to seriously threaten the home side’s lead.
Jakub Tuma was active as a playmaker with 6 assists, but Pardubice’s inability to convert those opportunities into a consistent offensive rhythm proved costly. The visitors’ effort was there, but execution in key moments let them down.
With the series shifting to Pardubice for Game 3, the pressure is firmly on the home side to respond. Falling 0-3 in a Finals series would leave them on the brink of elimination, and the crowd in Pardubice will be counted on to provide the kind of energy that could swing momentum back in their favor.
Nymburk, meanwhile, will be looking to stay sharp on the road and potentially close out the series before it returns home. If Sehnal and his teammates maintain this level of performance, Pardubice will need a significant collective step forward to extend the series.
