The Miami Heat rediscovered their winning ways with a commanding victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-103, ending a five-game losing streak. Norman Powell led the offense with 19 points, well supported by Tyler Herro and his 18 points in a remarkable collective performance.
An effective collective attack despite a cold spell
As sharp as they’ve been all season, the Heat players responded after squandering a 17-point lead in the third quarter. Miami led by nine points with five minutes remaining when Bam Adebayo converted a 3-pointer and Kel’el Ware scored on a layup within just 11 seconds.
Adebayo finished the game with 17 points while Ware recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Heat’s offense was particularly balanced with eight players scoring at least ten points. Miami dominated the first three quarters by hitting 13 three-pointers, allowing them to build a 21-point lead in the first half.

Cleveland sees their streak end despite Mitchell
For the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points before fouling out in the final minutes. His performance wasn’t enough to prevent the end of Cleveland’s four-game winning streak. James Harden and Sam Merrill each added 18 points to the Cavs’ offensive effort.
Cleveland coach Kenny Atkinson was hoping for a better defensive performance from his team, which had allowed 131 points against Orlando Tuesday. Atkinson believes the Cavaliers are capable of doing better, but states they need to « change their mindset » with the playoffs approaching.
Injuries continue to hamper Cleveland, with Jarrett Allen missing his tenth consecutive game. The bad luck continued during warmups when Dean Wade twisted his right ankle by stepping on a ball boy’s foot. Wade, who started 36 games this season, was unable to play. The two teams will meet again Friday for their fourth and final matchup of the regular season.
